Orthotics
How can your feet effect your spine, hips, and legs?
Poor foot biomechanics can cause pain and injury in the knee, hip and even the low back. The feet have 22 bones, 33 joints and over a hundred different muscles, ligaments and tendons. They are very similar to the hands. But whereas we use our hands as we grow and develop dexterity our feet often spend most of the day in confining shoes and on flat unforgiving concrete slabs. This leads to a situation that promotes loss of biomechanical arches, dexterity and balance.
We offer fully custom orthotics by Sole Supports designed to support and protect your feet. Sole Supports are calibrated to match each patient’s weight, foot flexibility and activity level. Sole Support orthotics have been scientifically proven to actually change foot posture and provide long term improvement in foot biomechanics. Orthotics can be modified to support diabetic feet, bunions, heel spurs and other common foot ailments.
Because not everyone needs a fully customized foot orthotic we also offer a pre-fabricated version by MojoFeet. MojoFeet are designed for the active foot, the one that needs to move and still provide support. They are ideal for athletic shoes and anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet. They can be semi-customized to fit your foot, are in stock and are significantly cheaper than a fully custom option. Because of this they are also great for kids who will be outgrowing their orthotics quickly.
Because no two feet are the same no two orthotic needs are the same. Each orthotic is fitted to the shoes they will be worn with in house. Bring your new running shoes or your favorite pair of dress shoes. We can even make a pair for your favorite heels. At Coast Spine Center there is an orthotic option for everyone.
